Decorating Crazy : Kitchen Edition

One thing is for sure; whenever we buy a house we will have a black and white checkered kitchen floor! I love the kitschy feel of these kitchens, and then also the fresh, clean, industrial feel of the last image. There is something so neat looking about the open shelving instead of cabinets, but I don't think we could handle keeping everything so neat and organized looking all of the time! I feel like the kitchen is a tough place to really decorate while renting, so I guess these are more kitchen eye candy and decorating inspiration. Oh well!

Kitchens can be found on my 'For the Home' pinboard.

Decorating Crazy : Bedroom Edition

For me, the bedroom is probably the easiest place to forget about when it comes to decorating. I usually end up decorating it with my clothes all over the place. I love all of the print mixing going on in these photos! I think all of the different florals, frames and cozyness  are pretty good sources of inspiration to help me get started on the bedroom.

What do you like about your own bedroom? Do you have any neat bedroom decorating ideas?

Meet Maude!

This is Maude.
We got her over the weekend and have been having fun with her ever since. She is crazy and hilarious and wouldn't really sit still long enough to capture her extreme cuteness on camera. She loves to run and jump and play and is also a really big snuggler.
You know how cats will walk by and rub up against your leg? Well she has her own version of that where she adds a little hop. She hops up against your leg as she walks by and it still cracks us up every time. She is really talkative and I caught her chasing her tail yesterday.
We put this funny little hat on her and she acted like she was asleep.
She's pretty goofy.

Monday

When I was thinking of what I wanted to blog about today I was at a total loss, like I had absolutely no idea. I felt like I had never done it before. It's really weird trying to get back into the swing of things after such a long, unexpected break.

We're still working on the new apartment. We have a dining room table, but no chairs for it. I have this huge new desk that I'm in love with, but no chair to sit on at it. And we have all of these boxes of books, but no shelves to put them on. We have all of these blank walls and a bunch of little trinkets sitting around and I want to start decorating! I'm getting a little antsy with everything taking so long to come together, but then again, it has only been 2 weeks. I think I am probably one of the most impatient people in the world.

But today I am working on getting the shop back in order. I will be adding some new pieces later in the day, making new business cards and trying to get organized. Wish me luck!

pieces of the new place

We are slowly getting settled into the new place. We still need a few more pieces of furniture to be able to unpack what boxes are left. I've been working on my office more in the past few days and it's coming along pretty nicely! Next I just need clean the carpet and then all of my shop clothes will be moved in and set up! As soon as it makes its way over here the shop will be reopened! I'm really shooting for the end of this week (hopefully, it's a busy week). I am so excited to get back into it again!

It feels good to have the internet again. This past week made me wonder what I ever did before I got into blogging and everything! I am happy to make my return to the blogging/etsy community, I missed you all!

Decorating Crazy : Dining Room Edition

Okay guys, 4 more days! I can't even believe it, I am so excited! I'm sure you all know that I've been spending a lot of time looking out for decorating inspiration (and becoming addicted to Pinterest along the way) these are some of my favorite dining room looks.
Some of these looks aren't really possible for our new place and/or definitely wouldn't look as good with carpet instead of hardwood floors, but they still serve as good inspiration. The one piece that I am most excited about for our dining room is finding a vintage hutch that will be used as a bookcase. Now, the tricky part is finding an affordable one!

Decorating Crazy : Living Room Edition

We'll be moving in 3 weeks. That's not much time and there's still a lot to do. With all of the difficulty finding furniture and a major breakthrough I discovered the other night I think there is a good possibility of some handmade furniture in this new home of ours! I have a few ideas up my sleeve that I can't wait to pursue!

Vintage, rustic, industrial styles, greenery, mixing patterns, lots of furniture feet, organization, fun wall art, simple white, pops of color, vintage design and detail and natural light are all things that are inspiring and especially eye-catching for me lately.

All images can be found on my pinboards.
If any of you have a Pinterest let me know, I'd love to follow you and see your pins!

Office Space part 2

No Fun Fact Friday today. Instead I'm sharing one of the few things that has been on my mind lately. Ever since moving out again has been in talks I have been planning what my workspace will look like. Now, this isn't the first I've done this and it may not even be my last! :)

I am being drawn in by the simplicity of white walls. I've been swooning for all of the industrial lighting, the makeshift sawhorse desks and above all else the tidiness and organization of it all! I cannot wait to have my own little space again, whether it be in an extra bedroom, or just my own corner of the dining room. I am on the hunt for all kinds of containers, bins, etc. to give each item their own home. I can't wait!

You can find all of these images and their sources, along with a bunch of other inspiring photos on my Office Space board.

P.S. I am also having a giveaway over at the Lulu Letty blog! Check it out and enter for your chance to win a $25 credit to my shop!

Office Space

After having to move back home and back into the basement last fall I haven't had any kind of inspirational workspace whatsoever. So, for the last few months (more now than ever with the weather getting nicer) I've been dreaming of beautiful craft spaces.
I LOVE all of these organized minimalist spaces. That is something that I would love to have, but probably could never keep up with. But I know that I would love to have... bright, natural light, along with windows! peg board, coordinating containers, a BIG desk, (maybe) a chalkboard, a place to pin up inspirational pictures and a desktop computer! Hopefully it won't take too long before Rickey and I save up and get everything together to work on moving out once again.

Welcome!

after talking about this for just about forever i've finally gotten around to it! a tour of our new(ish) home! it has been really exciting for me to do pretty much all of the decision making in our decorating and in getting to pick out all of our furniture instead of just receiving okay looking hand me downs from family or friends. so, first up... the living room!
and next we have the dining room...
i'm still a little blown away by some of the crazy deals we got on this stuff! the dining room table has 6 chairs and 3 leaves! with the leaves it almost doubles in size! it's gigantic! and it was only $30! the record player is one of my favorite pieces in the house--it was also a steal at $25!
then there is my little workspace, an extra room off of the kitchen. unfortunately, i haven't been spending too much time in here. when i do work on stuff i've been lugging all of my supplies out to the dining room where it is air conditioned! this has to be the hottest room of the house!!
i guess that wraps up 3 of the 6 rooms in our apartment. the others are a little less interesting and too messy to share at the moment.

on another note, rickey and i celebrated our 2 year anniversary on friday. we stuffed ourselves at seamus mccdaniel's, then again at ben & jerry's and then went to see toy story 3 at the tivoli! i'm always meaning to take outfit pictures, especially when we go out, but somehow it always gets forgotten or put off or something like that. hopefully soon i'll stop being so forgetful and get with it!!
