So Many Possibilities...

Over the last few weeks Halloween costume ideas have come and gone. Here are some of the best ideas (plus the winning costume) that we've come up with. Coming up with a good costume is so tricky, especially if you don't want to spend a bunch of money--which I really didn't. So, hopefull it'll come out looking good, not like I just cheaply threw it together.

I still need to find the last two pieces for my costume. Wish me luck!
I can't wait to finish and share my completed costume.

New Additions

Some new goodies that will make their way into the shop before the day is over!
Also, thanks for your halloween costume comments. I think we settled on a different idea today though. Whatever we choose I'll definitely share some pictures!

Halloween Inspiration

So, I had this post all written out and finished the other day, but we are having some second thoughts. The few people we've told our idea to have asked "will people know who you are?" I guess that's true. So, now we're back in the thinking game once again! Hopefully we can come up with something good before tonight (we're going to some costume party.) Ideas welcome!!! And very appretiated! But I figured I'd share our previous idea with you all anyway. I really loved it for a little bit!
Rickey and I have finally decided on our halloween costumes. Cory and Topanga from Boy Meets World! My all time favorite show! I think this will be a super fun and awesome costume.  All we'll need are a couple of wigs and a trip to the thrift store for some funny '90s clothes.

Denim, flannel, stripes and long floral dresses. This shouldn't be too hard!

If you haven't, check it out now!
I got it a few weeks back and haven't stopped listening to it since. It's so much fun!
PLUS Jenny Lewis is just about the coolest girl around!

Cape = BUST!

Maggie's Farm went to Cape Girardeau's River City Music Festival a few weeks back and did not have the best time there. See how empty the street is? There were not very many people there. Most of the people there weren't exactly my target audience and didn't have much interest in what I had to offer. PLUS we wound up being the only booth selling something other than food!
We were on a slight slant, which made setting up much trickier. We had leaning racks, shattering mirrors, items carried away by the wind and I couldn't even count the number of times racks full of clothing fell over!
The second night of the festival got MUCH colder than the first. With that most people were coming down and going straight into bars and resturants, not even checking out any of the booths. This was about the time we did a little goofing around taking silly pictures and ended up heading home a few hours early.
Lessons learned for next time
-don't be too let down when an old hoosiery lady flips out over asking $20 for a dress and a sweater
-find a better known festival to take part in! The more people that are there the greater chance of sales
-get sturdier equiptment!

Among many other things.

I'm Back!!!

Man, it's been too long! I am still trying to get back into the swing of things and getting settled in back at home. I have SO many new unsold items from the festival to add to the shop, but still need to get a camera and other things together before I can go shop update crazy. Until then here are a few new pairs of boots that are in (or about to be) the shop. So head on over there and check them out, because everyone needs some cute boots this fall!

I'll tell you guys all about the festival (and why it was a bust!) soon!
