CUTE!

Okay, so is this not the cutest thing you've ever seen??! If you haven't seen it yet watch it now!

I have been so busy lately with school, work and trying to prepare as many pieces for a shop photo shoot this weekend. And on top of that this is going to be the busiest weekend ever! (2 concerts and a trivia night!) So, I will be back and posting more often after all of this craziness is over with. I've also been working on a new look for my blog and shop, as well as my packaging--so watch out for that!

Hope you guys have a great weekend!!

p.s. does anyone know why my pictures would turn into that little question mark? It has been happening more lately and is getting really old.

green machine.

Two outfit posts in one week? Who am I, right? I guess it's really just thanks to all of this beautiful weather! I feel so much more motivated and excited about doing everything. That being said, I have a huge pile of 'stuff to work on' sitting next to me that needs some attention. Hopefully I don't jinx myself!
jumper, shirt & shoes: thrifted

These photos are from the other day when Rickey and I went to the park by my house for some disc golf. The park was filled with mud, which wasn't the best for hiking through the course! I thought I had ruined my shoes, but I think they've dried okay. These shoes are some of my favorites as of recently. I found them at a thrift store a while back for 50 cents and they are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn!

Today I'm excited to get my bike fixed (hopefully in time) for tonight's FBC ride!

Happy Birthday!!

I almost forgot the today my blog and shop turn one year old!
This past year has been great! I've learned so much from so many different people all over the world and also learned so much more about business than I would have ever expected. I look forward to another year and plan to make this one even better than the first! Thank you to all of my followers for your support and kindness!!!

Black and White and Red All Over

So what's it been, about 20 years since my last outfit post??! Even though these pictures kind of stink and are filled with funny looking faces I thought I should still share. This is what I wore for Valentine's Day.
I had been looking forward the day and whatever Rickey's surprise plans were. So we started with these photos, then he said we'd go walk around the loop and grab a drink somewhere before our dinner reservation. Once we made our way down there he suggests we check out the rooftop bar at the Moonrise Hotel which just that was exciting enough! On our way in he says 'Oh I guess we'll just bring our bags in later' all I could say was 'WHAT? We're staying HERE??' It was so nice! We went to dinner at a nice little Italian place called LoRusso's that was delicious and headed back to the hotel for wine and chocolate strawberries.

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day too!
Sorry again for the weird faces, I'll do better next time!!

recent buys

For the first time in over a year I bought myself a NEW dress. I can't believe it had really been that long! The only new things I've bought myself in the last year have been shoes and 2 pairs of jeans, but for Valentine's day's sake I thought I should get something new. This cutie came from h&m. It seems like it will be a pretty versatile piece--it will look nice and fancy with black tights and heels for now and will look kind of 'prairie girl-ish' worn with bare legs in the spring and summertime. So, I'm pretty pleased with this purchase.
I also just received these cute little Seychelles the other day. They are even cuter in person than they were in pictures plus they fit me perfectly! The brown ones on the other hand, were much cuter in their pictures. I thought that the height could be good for wearing to work, but I'm still kind of unsure about them.
I've never cared much for Valentine's Day before, but Rickey seems to have some tricks up his sleeve this year so I'm actually really excited! He has the whole thing all planned out and won't tell me anything. Usually when he has some kind of surprise or something in mind he spills and doesn't keep it too long, but not this time! I can't wait!

Also, I think I may make Film Fest a bi-weekly feature with how insanely busy I've been lately.

Shoe Love

Just about every pair of shoes I've purchased for myself in the last year has been brown (with the exception of one black and one gray pair). I feel like it is time to mix it up and add some color to my feet! Something like this...

Last week I scored a pair of those Seychelles on Ebay in the cream/white color. I haven't seen them in person yet, but I'm already dreaming about dying them an even more fun color. Anyone have any helpful tips on dyeing shoes??
I've been clog crazy for a while now and I've gotten a few pair (brown, of course) that I've worn with tights and dresses, but I can't wait for it to warm up to wear them with bare legs and socks! What are you guys looking forward to putting on your feet?

Film Fest Vol. 1

The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys
The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys is a coming of age story of a group of 8th grade friends growing up in the '70s in the south. The boys attend St. Agatha's with the evil one-legged Sister Assumpta (Jodie Foster) as their teacher. With an awesome opening scene of the two main characters, Francis Doyle (Emile Hirsch) and Tim Sullivan (Kieran Culkin) 'doing their math homework' by cutting down a telephone pole with the use of triangulation you already see their careless, just-for-fun destructive personalities.

Francis is in love with Margie Flynn (Jena Malone) who has a dark and troubled past. Margie shares her deep dark secret with Francis, showing how much she cares about him. While the two grow closer we see how this relationship effects the boys' friendship.
Tim doesn't have the best home life so, seeking attention, as well as just being a 8th grade trouble-making boy, he comes up with  all kinds of tricks and stunts to occupy their time. Tim comes up with the ultimate prank, one so wild that it requires much planning, construction and experimenting.  altboys073t.jpg
The boys create their own comic called The Atomic Trinity with a character for each role mostly seeking revenge on Sister Assumpta, "the one-legged bitch". The film interestingly transitions from live action scenes to animated comic scenes. This was kind of a strange surprise for me the first time I saw it, but it's really pretty neat. Francis is the mastermind behind The Atomic Trinity which serves as a way show his hopes and emotions.

The Dangerous Lives of Alter Boys is full of pranks, laughs, wit and heartbreak. This movie opened many doors for me--I fell in love with Kieran Culkin and watched everything else with him that I could find and I kind of hated Jena Malone when I first saw this I soon realized that she's been in A LOT of really good movies! As for Emile Hirsch, he's the one that led me to watch this in the first place, he is AWESOME!!

2/2

Catching up on my flooded Google Reader after 3 days without internet access has been quite a project so far. I did come across some beautiful Spring lines thanks to Sally Jane Vintage. This one from TBA is probably my favorite for the moment. I love the natural, earthy feel these photos have. I love the plain simple neutral cream/white/brown color palette along with the socks! That is probably another one of my goals this year--to pull off socks with sandals and look half as cute as these girls while doing so. I'm also loving the long side braids and am wishing my hair was long enough to cooperate for that! Oh, I cannot wait for Springtime!

Thanks to this big ugly snowstorm I've lost these last few days to extreme laziness. I've been kind of stranded at Rickey's without school, work or even internet, but there has been plenty of tv-watching (thanks to Showtime on demand!) I had also been planning on starting Film Fest this past Monday, but probably won't get to it till next Monday now. We'll see I suppose. I hope you're all keeping safe and warm and those of you who are in warm parts of the world, I am SOOO stinkin' jealous! Lucky ducks!
