Oh My Goodness!

Lodekka Dress Shop(© Aly Pierce, courtesy of Lodekka)
Is this not the coolest thing you've ever seen? A double decker bus from the '70s turned into a vintage dress shop! And and adorable one at that! I just found out about this via Elsie's '10 Things I Love Sunday' and had to check it out right away!

It's Been A While.

So, I was thinking it's been about a million years since I've done an outfit post (maybe even any kind of post in general) and I should just man up, go out in the backyard with my tripod and take a few pictures. A somewhat angry/uncomfortable looking me. Whoops. Maybe that had something to do with just returning from the dentist where I had just gotten a root canal.
While I've been away from blogging I've been super busy. Working retail during the holidays is already ridiculous! But I survived work on Black Friday, so that's a plus! I turned 21 last week (pictures coming soon). And have been freezing most of the time. I am not a big fan of this crazy winter weather.

Ben Kweller 11.11

Thursday night Rickey and I went to see the wonderful Ben Kweller at Off Broadway. It was one incredible show! The last time I saw him play, which was also at Off Broadway, he played with his band, but this time it was just him. He switched between his guitar and piano. It was really neat to hear such cool stuff come from just one guy! It was the perfect venue for the show--it's so intimate and personal, the stage is probably only 2-3 feet high and he's just right there in front of you! He played almost all of the songs I was hoping for and saved my very favorite (Penny On the Train Tracks) for the final encore. It was one of my favorite shows ever!

Style Icon: Volume II

JENNY LEWIS
She is one of the coolest ladies out there! She always looks adorable, has the most beautiful hair, one of the best voices and writes the most wonderful words! I've had the pleasure of seeing her perform (only) once, it was the best show I've ever seen! The fourth picture here is one from when she played here in St. Louis at The Pageant! P.S. How awesome is that Bob Dylan t-shirt above? After noticing that I think I need to find myself a vintage Bob Dylan Tee right away!!
Not only is she beautiful, but she's incredible at her work. She's always doing something new and great like working with her original band, Rilo Kiley, coming out with a solo album or collaborating with other incredible artists. Working with some of the best in the business like: Elvis Costello, Conor Oberst, M. Ward, The Watson Twins, Johnathan Rice and of course the main men of Rilo Kiley!
Um, and she's dated Jake Gyllenhaal!!!
Jenny is always looking super cute whether she's in one of her beautiful dresses, high-waisted jeans or any of her million teeny tiny bodysuits! I'll say once more, she has perfect hair!! I've ALWAYS wanted her hair, but have always been too impatient to grow it out that long. Maybe it'll happen one day.

just in case...

If you hadn't already noticed Maggie's Farm recently got a Facebook page and a Twitter account. Come 'like' and 'follow'! I'm so new to Twitter and trying to figure it all out, it's fun to follow people though!

&

P.S. I sadly have NO Halloween pictures to share with you guys. I realized that my camera was dead last minute and a friend has the charger! Later in the night a group picture was taken, but someone decided to flash the camera, so needless to say that one did not make it's way onto facebook (and I couldn't use it).

Rickey and I went as The Dude and Maude Lebowski. I wore the gold viking getup complete with a basketball cut in half and painted gold as a bra! It was such a fun costume! We went to see The Monads play their final show at Off Broadway's Halloween Hootennanny where the band dressed up as The Hungry Hungry Hippos and we all threw around inflated white balls! Then we went to a friend's party afterwards.

How was your Halloween??
