Cold Weather Wants

Chunky cardigans, big warm scarves, and tan and black polka dots are all I want to wear right now! I guess I better get to hunting some of these things down before the cold weather is over!

What are your favorite things to wear in cold weather?

thanksgiving

So, as you can see, this camera's quality is quickly going downhill. It's been pretty bad in low light for as long as I can remember, but now in bright daylight it's even getting blurry. Unfortunately this silly and sassy pose is the only one that turned out. Looks like a new camera is climbing its way to the top of my Christmas list!

This is what I wore on Thanksgiving. This horse print dress is one of my favorite dresses (you can see it again here) and the shirt underneath the dress is another of my all-time favorite pieces. It's great for wearing alone as a top or layered beneath a dress for the cute addition of a peter pan collar and ascot (also like this)!
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

The One With the Lists

You remember that episode of 'Friends' where they come up with their lists of the 5 celebrities they could hook up with and their significant other had to be okay with it? Well here are mine. But I'm not laminating my list, like Ross, so I can change my mind at any time.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is not only a hottie, but is also a really awesome dude. He is a wonderful actor and also started the super cool hitRECord collaborative art project.
Jason Segel is hilarious in everything he's in, is super good-looking and seems like such a giant sweetheart.
Ryan Gosling. Is there really anything else to say?
Paul Rudd is another super funny, charming and good-looking man that I've been in love with for quite some time.
Heath Ledger. Because this is already a crazy idea -- I don't think I will ever meet any of these men -- they don't have to be alive! Heath Ledger is probably the most gorgeous man that ever lived. I have been in love with him since I first saw '10 Things I Hate About You' twelve years ago!

Other possibilities: Emile Hirsch, Kieran Culkin, Leonardo DiCaprio, Gael Garcia Bernal, Ben Kweller, Mark Ruffalo, Adam Scott, Michael Pitt and Tim Kasher.

Who are your top five?

Celebrations

Pieces of my birthday celebrations.
We had a bunch of fun! It was our first party at the apartment and it seems like it went pretty well, I haven't heard any complaints from the neighbors. We played some drinking games, did a whole lot of giggling and everyone loved our cat. Later on we decided to go out for some dancing. It was a fun night.

Shop Spotlight

Another super cool Etsy shop! If you're a fellow Wes Anderson fan then this is one you'll love! Team Zissou HQ is stocked with some of the pieces you need to become a member of Team Zissou! Now all you need is your jumpsuit, red hat and special Zissou edition Adidas sneakers.
The shop always has these awesome rings and pins and usually has a few other clever pieces in there as well. The film quotes in the listings are always fun to read too!

Check out some of my other favorite Etsy shops!

It's My Birthday!

Today is my birthday! I can't believe it's already here, it's so weird how fast this year is flying by! I am so excited to hang out and go shopping with my best friend, Mary Kate today. It's been so long since I've actually been shopping (not thrifting) so that's just what we're going to do! I hope I can overcome my 'shopper's guilt' and get a few new items. Then tonight Rickey and I will go out. And I'll probably listen to my favorite birthday song at least a few times throughout today.

wednesday

Because right on top of your chest is probably the most comfortable spot in the house.
Now, being a cat owner, it surprises me everyday just how weird cats really are. Maude whines all the time and sounds just like a crying baby. She'll hop around like crazy, climb into really weird places (the window nook in the shower and bathroom sink are new favorites of hers), chase her tail and drink out of every single glass in the house. Just to name a few. What are some funny things your pets do?

Tomorrow (my birthday) starts my four day weekend. I am so excited! I am going to do some fun birthday stuff and then be super productive the rest of the weekend. Let's hope that plan works out!

Decorating Crazy : Kitchen Edition

One thing is for sure; whenever we buy a house we will have a black and white checkered kitchen floor! I love the kitschy feel of these kitchens, and then also the fresh, clean, industrial feel of the last image. There is something so neat looking about the open shelving instead of cabinets, but I don't think we could handle keeping everything so neat and organized looking all of the time! I feel like the kitchen is a tough place to really decorate while renting, so I guess these are more kitchen eye candy and decorating inspiration. Oh well!

Kitchens can be found on my 'For the Home' pinboard.

new look + big goof

No big changes, just a fresh and clean new look. I also just really like seeing a picture of my blog on my blog, hah.

So, for a little while now I've had this fear of buying tickets to a concert or event ahead of time and then forgetting to go when it's finally time. Well, my fear finally came true. I had written on my calendar, added to my phone calendar and committed to memory that Dr. Dog was coming on Monday the 7th. I made sure I was off and even had Rickey ask off for the show. Monday afternoon came and I wondered what time the show started so I checked the venue's website to see. Turns out Dr. Dog had already played Saturday night! Oh my gosh. I couldn't believe it, I still can't. What a terrible mistake!

If those dudes make it to your city on their tour go see them! Do it for me!
I will leave you with my all time favorite Dr. Dog song. Enjoy.

last friday

Just in the time it took me to get ready to go out Friday night quickly went from date night to double date night to a night filled with friends. A group of us went to a busy Mexican place for dinner, stopped at the apartment to decide our next move and then headed out to meet some other friends at The Handle Bar.

02. Bridget drawing me/Rickey/Michael Jackson
03. tequila, pbr, can rings and popcorn crumbs

MIA

Oh, hey. It's been a while. Last week was a crazy one and I got super behind on everything. I was working overnight and then sleeping all day long. I'm glad that everything is back to normal now and I'm making my comeback to the blog world with full force! There is SO much that I want to accomplish this week, so wish me luck!

Today, since I have the day off, I'll be working on catching up on stuff around the apartment,  all of my blog reading and updating the shop! I have already added a few of these new pieces to the shop, but the rest is coming (hopefully all today)!

Check out the goodies that were added to the shop the other day!
I hope you're all doing well. Can you seriously believe it's already November?? That's insane, but it does mean less than two weeks till my birthday!
