thrift finds.

I was so close to not going thrifting the other day, but boy am I glad I did! I found some great stripes, pleats, florals and plenty of polka dots! And some YSL shoes! Those were an unexpected find!

I'll be adding a few pieces to the shop tomorrow. And I will also be back for something fun!

New in the Shop!

A few new pieces were added to the shop earlier in the week.

I hope to have a few more pieces added to the shop at some point this week as I'm going through and organizing my three huge boxes of shop stock.

Fall Favorites

I would love to wear each and every one of these outfits. These images are all great inspiration to wear outfits other than my usual cool weather uniform of a dress, cardigan and black tights. Chunky knits, colored pants, loafers, cardigans in every color, hats, colored tights and a new bag are all things I'll be on the lookout for during each thrifting trip!

I recently ordered a pair of maroon tights from We Love Colors thinking that this year I'd invest in some better quality tights so that I wasn't buying a new pair of black ones every week. To my surprise there was a hole in them by the end of the night! Can anyone recommend a good pair of super opaque colored tights?

All images can be found on my Cool Weather board. As always, if I'm not already following you on Pinterest let me know! I'm always interested in pretty new things to look at!

Monday

When I was thinking of what I wanted to blog about today I was at a total loss, like I had absolutely no idea. I felt like I had never done it before. It's really weird trying to get back into the swing of things after such a long, unexpected break.

We're still working on the new apartment. We have a dining room table, but no chairs for it. I have this huge new desk that I'm in love with, but no chair to sit on at it. And we have all of these boxes of books, but no shelves to put them on. We have all of these blank walls and a bunch of little trinkets sitting around and I want to start decorating! I'm getting a little antsy with everything taking so long to come together, but then again, it has only been 2 weeks. I think I am probably one of the most impatient people in the world.

But today I am working on getting the shop back in order. I will be adding some new pieces later in the day, making new business cards and trying to get organized. Wish me luck!

Open for Business!

Just stopping by to announce that the shop is now open for business!
Stop by and take a look!

Have a great weekend!

Bluth Bananas

I've been re-watching Arrested Development for the last couple of weeks. I've been pacing myself and trying to make it last as long as possible. What ever happened to them making a movie?! Last night I decided to make some chocolate bananas in the style of the Bluth Banana Stand.
It was super simple.

1. I gathered bananas, chocolate and cream.
2. Cut the chocolate up so that it would melt faster.
3. Started heating the cream and added the chocolate. Stirred until it was creamy.
4. Dipped the bananas
5. Put them in the freezer

They're pretty messy looking, but I'm hoping they taste better than they look!

last weekend.

Last weekend we finally had some time where Rickey and I were both off work and were able to do some running around together. We took a trip to the farmer's market, the grocery store, moved a few more things in and finally settled in for a fondue dinner and a movie.
We stopped for lunch at one of our favorites, Blues City Deli. After we ordered the owner said "Have you heard of the Foo Fighters? They're a rock band and they're supposed to be coming here today!" We didn't stick around long enough to see if they came by, but I hope they did. I would definitely recommend Blues City to anyone visiting St. Louis!
We headed a few blocks away to this little park to get a few pictures before more running around. I am pretty pleased with the weather we've been having lately and even more pleased to be able to wear tights again! I really hadn't realized just how short this dress is until seeing these photos. Whoops!
Oh! I also dyed my hair recently. I used that new foam dye. I liked that it wasn't messy, but it left my hair feeling really coarse and dirty for the next few days. Has anyone else used it?

pieces of the new place

We are slowly getting settled into the new place. We still need a few more pieces of furniture to be able to unpack what boxes are left. I've been working on my office more in the past few days and it's coming along pretty nicely! Next I just need clean the carpet and then all of my shop clothes will be moved in and set up! As soon as it makes its way over here the shop will be reopened! I'm really shooting for the end of this week (hopefully, it's a busy week). I am so excited to get back into it again!

It feels good to have the internet again. This past week made me wonder what I ever did before I got into blogging and everything! I am happy to make my return to the blogging/etsy community, I missed you all!

Rodarte for Opening Ceremony.

I usually don't pay too much attention to all of the new lines, but this one really caught my eye while I was browsing my 500+ unread posts. I really love the styling of this shoot and how crazy is that floral jumpsuit?! I think this Rodarte for Opening Ceremony has got to be my favorite Fall lookbook I have come across yet.

I'll be back tomorrow to share some bits of our new home!

Today is the Day!

Today! After I get off work at 4:30 (or maybe even earlier) we will be picking up the keys to our new home! And that up there is a silly photo booth picture of how excited I am for all of this business! I have already packed up the van with the first load of stuff and can't wait!

I'm sure I'll still be tweeting during this whole process, but I'm not sure what our internet situation will be yet. I really hope to be back to blogging by late next week, if not sooner! I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Also, I have closed the shop and all orders have been sent out. See you soon!

A Shop Update & A Thank You.

All of these items plus a couple non-pictured ones will be added to the shop today! I am just working on getting everything organized and ready for the move (2 days!).

I really want to thank you all for following, reading and commenting around here. I can't believe there are 100+ people stopping by and reading my blog! You are all so wonderful and to thank you I want to host my first giveaway. As soon as I am unpacked and have some things in order, which will hopefully be next week sometime, I will be doing a giveaway! I have some things in mind, but do you guys have any certain things you'd like to see as a prize?

64 degrees

I am so blown away by the weather these last few days. And it's supposed to stay for at least another week! This is coming at a really good time since I am getting kind of burnt out on dressing for Summer. I am so excited about cardigan and tights weather. This year I am going to have to order some tights instead of buying 20+ pairs of black tights at Target each time I got a hole in them!
I really don't ever wear orange, but I am here and here. I am pretty positive that these are the only two orange colored items I own, it's just funny that I ended up wearing them back to back in outfit posts! This cardigan is more rust colored, which I am so excited about this Fall! Rust and mustard colored things, tights, cardigans, warm drinks, pumpkin flavored things, bonfires, open windows and Halloween. Oh, I am SO excited for Fall!
What are your favorite things about Fall?

Decorating Crazy : Dining Room Edition

Okay guys, 4 more days! I can't even believe it, I am so excited! I'm sure you all know that I've been spending a lot of time looking out for decorating inspiration (and becoming addicted to Pinterest along the way) these are some of my favorite dining room looks.
Some of these looks aren't really possible for our new place and/or definitely wouldn't look as good with carpet instead of hardwood floors, but they still serve as good inspiration. The one piece that I am most excited about for our dining room is finding a vintage hutch that will be used as a bookcase. Now, the tricky part is finding an affordable one!

All images can be found on my For the Home board.
If you're on Pinterest let me know, I'd love to follow you and see all of your pins!
