what i wore.

 Here is what I wore to work yesterday. It feels like ages since I last posted an outfit around here, but hopefully that'll start to change! 

This shirt is one I thrifted recently because I'm really just kind of a sucker for peter pan collars. The skirt is another piece that was thrifted and then altered and I am now in love with it. And the shoes... I got them at H&M the other day for $13! I just happened to stop in after work one day and spotted these in a couple different colors (I got the green too) I think I may have to go back for the orange ones.

This weekend was too fast and too sad. We said goodbye to a friend who is leaving for the navy this week and will be gone for the next six years. Six years is a long time. It hit me even harder to realize that when he returns we will be 28! TOO WEIRD! Other than weird/scary events and realizations my weekend was pretty productive. I have a bunch of stuff that'll be making its way into the shop soon.

TV Edition: Mad Men

I know I'm late to the game, but I just finished Mad Men on Netflix! Wow! It took me a little bit to get into it, but once I did I was hooked. All of the design and costumes are fantastic, those combined with lots of drama make for a pretty great show! Now it'll just be a bummer to have to wait for the new season to come out.

The dress Joan is wearing above really reminds me of this one that I have in my shop right now. As I was looking through photos from the show I came across several of the stars at events, it is so weird to see them in modern clothes after only knowing them throughout the 60's!

I have really been itching for a new tattoo lately, but cannot decide what I want to get next! I love that little horse one though!

As usual I've been dreaming of long hair. My hair just doesn't seem to grow. I trimmed it last night to get rid of all of the dead ends and I'm really hoping that helps speed things up!

This is a pretty great idea for a simple bed with a little bit of extra storage! I think something like this may need to be in our near future.

 How perfect is this crewel artwork (still for sale!) found via Kate's blog! She said that she almost thrifted something similar recently, but got to the register to find they only took cash when she only had a card. Funny, same EXACT thing happened to me last week! Weird.

I'm really planning on being super productive. I took product photos for a whole bunch of new vintage for the shop the other day, so I'll be editing and finally listing! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Old Love is a really neat tumblr that I just discovered the other day. It's so funny to discover all of these crazy couples that I never knew existed! Jewel and Sean Penn? Really? Woody Harrelson and Glenn Close? Look at their outfits! Alec Baldwin and Kristen Davis? Wow!

I just realized that I never shared the last batch of vintage that I added to the shop. So, there it is up there! Some cute things and that seriously awesome coat! It's been a little bit since I added these, but I've been keeping very busy lately working on a ton of pieces that will start popping up later in the week. I've let my 'stuff to fix' pile get way too big, but knocking out so much of it is such a good feeling!

But while it's still freezing I'm a little jealous of these other bloggers who are brave enough to take outfit photos in the cold. I am the biggest baby when it comes to cold!

I finally just got an iPhone yesterday, so I've been searching for the perfect case. There are a million awesome cases here, it's so hard to choose just one!

 Maybe Vintage is a tumblr that I stumbled upon the other day that's filled with lots of pretty pictures of pretty ladies. Take a look.

a little bit different.

 This outfit isn't exactly something I would normally wear, but it's what I threw on the other day when I had to run a few places in the freezing cold. I am probably the weirdest person ever when it comes to boots. Two Christmases in a row I decided that I HAD to have boots, but so far no matter the boot, I look and feel weird in them. I guess it's just one of those things I can't pull off. Do you have any pieces that you feel like you just can't pull off?

Then there is this cardigan, I can't get enough of it. The color just seems to go so well with at least 80% of my wardrobe. I probably wear it too much. On another note, we recently picked up that great little side table at one of my favorite thrift stores for $6! It was such a great find and the perfect piece to fill that kind of awkward space between the chair and front door.

Rickey and I are kicking off the new year right and working on planning healthy meals. We go to the farmers market every week, but never with a plan. On Saturday we went with a list, checked everything off and are totally prepared for this week! I am one of the pickiest people ever, but I am challenging myself to try all kinds of new things. I am so excited about this for so many reasons!

Last night we had the quinoa stuffed bell peppers. They were sooo good! We grabbed some spicy quinoa at the market, made our own spicy salsa and enjoyed a meal that was totally new to us!

YESSSS! Finally, the trailer for Moonrise Kingdom was released! I am so excited for this, it looks so good! But no Owen Wilson? That is a Wes Anderson first... weird. It's okay though, it'll be awesome, I'm sure.

Cute little notebooks! I just recently ordered a mini notebook to keep in my bag and I'm excited for its arrival!

I'm still dreaming of the perfect workspace, but still pretty far from achieving it. Need to get to work!

These Instagram photo strips look so neat! I have less than a week until I finally get an iphone, I'm counting down the days.
